Paddington BID will be turning on the Christmas lights along Praed Street for the first time on Tuesday 1 December 2009, with Jonathan Ross flicking the switch on this momentous occasion. Join in the celebrations on Praed Street, near the Hilton London Paddington at 5.30pm for the light switch on and at Norfolk Square Gardens between 5pm and 8pm for festive treats, carolling, Christmas-themed entertainment and a guest appearance by Father Christmas himself. Enjoy some free mulled wine or hot chocolate and mince pies courtesy of the Novotel London Paddington at the switching on of the PaddingtonCentral Christmas lights at Sheldon Square on Thursday, 3 December 2009. Proceedings will commence at 5pm with the lights being switched on at 5.30pm. Father Christmas is expected to pay a visit with treats for the children too. The event will open on 21 November with Father Christmas & his Elves welcoming children every day right up to Christmas Eve. There are dozens of new rides and attractions including Central London’s largest Ice Rink, the Giant Observation Wheel, Zippo’s Christmas Circus and a traditional German Christmas Market.
